New Developments in
GLBT in A.A. & GLBT in A.A. Hospitality Committee
The GLBT in A.A. Hospitality Committee has become a separate entity from GLBT in A.A. The division was created to help keep the plans for the International Convention separate to make reporting to GSO easier.
The two committees will still be made up of the same personnel and the meetings are open to anyone who wishes to attend.
GLBT in A.A. Hospitality Committees sole purpose is to carry out the legwork for IAC (the International Advisory Council of Homosexual Men and Women in Alcoholics Anonymous) for the planning of the hospitality room, the dance, and staffing GLBT functions for the International Convention in the year 2000.
GLBT in A.A. is responsible for keeping the Minnesota GLBT meeting list, the GLBT in A.A. Newsletter, the Gopher State Roundup Hospitality Room, helping the IAC Area and City Reps, and the GLBT in A.A. Web Site (www.GLBTAAMN.com).
MinneSober
Plans are underway for MinneSober 1999 to be held October 8, 9, & 10, 1999 at the Regal Minneapolis Hotel in downtown Minneapolis! The event promises to be bigger and better than ever! In its third year at the hotel, the recovery weekend has grown to include more participation from outside the Twin Cities. This year's program will again include both A.A. and Al-Anon speakers, a diverse selection of workshops to choose from and great opportunities for fellowship. Last year, the Disco Dance was a great success and we hope to do it again! This year the committees want to add a full breakfast on Saturday as well as Sunday, Friday evening social time with snacks both before and after the speakers, as well as the customary grand dinner buffet on Saturday. Were already working to find powerful, GLBT, A.A. speakers from around the country to share their experience, strength and hope with us. Well be having a Community Meeting soon with lots of opportunity for you to become involved. Look for updates here and at your home group or contact co-chairs Dana G. (287-9886) or Greg G. (871-2035). Greg G.
Gopher State Roundup
The time for Gopher State Roundup is fast approaching. Gopher State Roundup XXVI will be held at the Radisson South Hotel again this year. The dates are May 28, 29, 30, 1999. This years theme is "Celebrate Sobriety". Registration is a suggested $10 per person.
There are eight speakers this year, along with other meetings, A.A. films, many hospitality rooms, and fellowship.
The GLBT in A.A. Hospitality Room will be in the same location this year. We welcome donations from groups or individuals to help defray the costs of the room. Donations can be sent to GLBT in A.A. Hospitality Committee, 3036 Dupont Ave. So, Mpls, MN 55408. Your support will make for a more successful hospitality room than ever before.
If you would like to help as a volunteer or with providing food for the pot luck dinner on Saturday night, before the speaker meeting, please contact Tracey C, Leo G, or contact GLBT in A.A. at the numbers at the end of this newsletter.

News
GLBT in A.A. held a monthly meeting at the Founders Club on March 7th. We discussed the upcoming Gopher State Roundup (see article above), the IAC Representatives, and the Web Page (www.GLBTAAMN.com). A Web Page Committee was formed to help make design decisions and to learn how to help maintain the page.
The IAC Reps will put together information regarding what IAC is and how the connection from local group to IAC to GSO works to be ready for the Gopher State Roundup.
Plans were also discussed to hold a dance on June 5, 1999 to support the Newsletter, Meeting List, the Web Page, and the Gopher State Roundup Hospitality Room for next year. Please contact Don H. if you are interested in helping with the dance.

Hospitality Committee News
The GLBT in A.A. Hospitality Committee met immediately after the GLBT in A.A. meeting.
A report was given on the locations desired for the Hospitality Room and the Dance at the International Convention in the year 2000.
Information will be given to the IAC board, which is meeting at the Florida Roundup. Decisions will be made at that time concerning budget, speakers, and workshop topics. Recommendations for locations will be passed on to Talley Management after the meeting.
We then will have to wait to see what locations are assigned to us. (GSO assigns all hotel space for the International Convention.)
The Project team gave a report on setting up a program to track all the projects for the International Convention and set deadlines for the completion of the projects.
The Dance Committee is taking shape. A chairperson has been chosen, and investigation of DJs, lighting equipment, etc. has started.
A report was given on the progress of the plans for the Scavenger Hunt to be held on April 17, starting at Café Zev at 5 PM. A donation of $10 will be requested, but donations of less or more will be accepted. Tickets are available in advance as well as at the door.
